Mad about Plaid – Fall Style for Warm Weather + Life Update

Oh, Hello September.

This season just crept up on us.

I was really enjoying summer and having so much fun at the beach, but now that Starbucks is officially selling their PSL’s again, the summer is OFFICIALLY OVER.

The weather didn’t get the memo though. It is still hot as heck here in Toronto, and it will be for the next few weeks.

So that’s where we have a little bit of a dilemma. We want to wear all the cozy sweaters and plaid, but we also don’t want to melt into a puddle by noon. I think this dress is the perfect way to battle that. It’s giving me all of the plaid that I need and love from Fall – but it’s also keeping me nice and cool (like super cool) in this 40-degree heat.

I found this beautiful dress at Zara – which has just become one of my favorite stores. I never really went in because it seemed too intimidating and I love my H&M and Forever 21. But, I tried it, and it changed my life. They have so many gorgeous styles and with such amazing quality. I’m currently getting my new work wardrobe ready from Zara.

Life Update:

It’s been just over 2 years since I had a real job. Actually, I don’t think I’ve ever had a real job. Wait, I’ve had a million different jobs, but I’ve never had a career. I’ve been on a maternity leave for the past 2 years from nothing really. I started my blog towards the end of my pregnancy, and well, you know the story from there. Because here we are today!

It’s been a little while since I sat down and focused solely on my blog – and all social media for that matter. Last year, I started working with Brandon. I was doing some Instagram and Facebook posts every blue moon and collecting my paycheck at the end of every month. In August, my work finally caught up with me. We realized that I should actually be getting something done? The businesses are growing, including my blog, and they are starting to take up more of my time. Overall more effort is needed, and more time needs to be spent online and in the office. So, sadly I have to give up one more day a week with Logan and devote it to work.

I was feeling really sad about it. Like really sad. I’ve had so much anxiety and have been so restless over this the past few weeks. I’ve been trying to juggle all the work and see if I can manage it all with my current schedule of 2 working days a week – but it’s just not working right now.

All of our babies are growing, Brandon’s 2 businesses, my influence, and our sweet little Loggy Bear. Right now, everything is so unorganized, that none of them are getting the attention they deserve. So, today Logan started in his new toddler class that is going to be transitioning from 2 days a week to 3. I’m going to be getting to spend a full day a week working on everything MamaBlondeinka Blog, a 2 days being the social media manager for World Wide College Tours and UWWWEB.

It might sound kinda like I’m sad, but that’s because I am of course – I don’t think any mom or parent wants to give up more time with their baby. Overall, I’m happy because I want to see the growth and I want to help everyone flourish.

So, I will be able to get back down to business here. I think I promised a few times over the summer that I will be back, but now its official!

For some, I think the new year is when they try to make all of these life changes and they want everything to be different or better. But for me, it’s always been the new school year. I’m one of those people who flourish under a routine and strict schedule. For a while, I think my life was getting a little hectic because I didn’t have a schedule or something that I needed to show up for on a regular basis. So, now I’m going to be getting back into a regular life – with working out, actually working, blogging, instagramming, mommying, moisturizing and just living my best life with my boys.

Oh yeah, and I finally got my pineapple picture 😊
