Why I Live in Pink + What the Color Means to Me

Pink.

I have always loved the color pink. I think that you can take one look at my blog or even just me and be like ‘okay, her favorite color is pink’. I’ve loved the color since I was little – when I was growing up my room was painted pink and everything I ever got was pink. As I get older, I don’t think that I’m ever going to lose my love for it. So, I feel like I needed to create an ode to this pretty pink look.

About Pink

Pink is the color of happiness and is seen as lighthearted. For people who are stresse and overburdened, an attraction to pink may speak of a desire for the more carefree days of childhood.

How the Color Pink Affects Us

Bright pinks that are close to red can stimulate energy and can increase the blood pressure, respiration, heartbeat, and pulse rate. It can also encourage action and confidence. The color pink is the color of universal love of oneself and of others.

Outfit Details:

I found this really cute pair of pink shorts at Zara, and I got to thinking – I really need to do an all pink fun outfit. I wanted to match the top to the shorts too. So, I went to H&M and found this basic tank on sale that matched almost perfectly! Even though this outfit is sort of basic, I wanted the shorts to be the star of the show. They have this cute almost ruffle detail on the thigh and they are high wasted. Honestly speaking, I’m not the biggest fan of shorts. I’m extremely self-conscious about my legs and hips and shorts always cut me at the wrong places. BUT THESE ARE AMAZING. I’m going back to find them in every other color possible.

I wanted to match the look with an easy shoe and bag, so I opted for tennis slides. I love this pair of these slip-on sneakers because the sole is a little thicker and gives me an extra inch. The bright white of them paired with the bag is cute and fresh. I thrifted this cute bag the other day for a DOLLAR! So, it was an obvious pairing win for me.

The pairing of the outfit in one color and accessories in a matching other color made me feel so put together. As basic as this outfit may seem with just a tank and shorts, I really loved this look.
