Royal Ontario Museum

One thing I’ve found is that it’s really important to bring culture to your family. I don’t like the idea of Logan growing up knowing only about Canadian culture. Growing up with immigrant parents, my life was completely different than his will be. Some of my favorite memories from my childhood are from when we would go to cultural places. I remember going to festivals, museums, parties and traveling all over. It made me feel special when we would talk about our summer vacation and I would have a long list to share with my class mates. I want the same for Logan – I don’t want his highlight of his weekend to be ordering in pizza and watching a movie on Netflix.

Today, we decided to start discovering our city. We took Logan to the Royal Ontario Museum. I have always loved history – I played back and forth with majoring in it in University. So I always love to go to the museum.

This was my second time coming to ROM – I remember it was very different 8 years ago (I can’t believe it was already 8 years…it didn’t seem that long ago).

There aren’t as many interactive exhibits as there used to be. We weren’t able to pet any dinosaurs or try on any armor! How disappointing. I remember climbing on dinos and sitting in a thrown from the 1800s. The museum is more of a look and take pictures display now.

It was fun for us. I think if Logan was a bit older we might not have liked it as much. There isn’t too much excitement from walking and looking.

We spent most of our time looking at the dinosaur bones. It was very exciting.

Can you imagine what life would be like if these monsters were still alive…

We’re planning something exciting for next weekend too – I’m so excited to share it with you!
