BlogHer19 Creators Summit Review

This past week I flew down to New York City to attend the #BlogHer19 Creators Summit. When I was looking for ways to rejuvenate my creative flow, I was suggested to attend the #BlogHer19 Creators Summit by a fellow blogger in a Facebook group. It would be my first time attending something like this. In the past, I’ve gone to conferences for work and pleasure, and I’ve also attended many blogging/media events – but none that really just celebrated being a creator. Needless to say, I was so excited to go out and meet some like-minded people – and to also learn about any insights into my industry.

Traveling to #BlogHer19 Creators Summit

This was also my FIRST EVER solo trip! Besides taking the train home to see my parents in college, I’ve never gone anywhere alone. Heading out to New York City (Brooklyn) on my first time was a huge leap for me. But I knew that going to perhaps the biggest creative junction in the world would help inspire my own creative flow. I’ve shared more about my travel experience in my Travel Diary HERE.

About the #BlogHer19 Creators Summit

The #BlogHer19 Creators Summit was hosted in the Brooklyn Expo Center. A simple building was transformed into a beautiful space that ______________

Within the summit there were small private workshops and discussions as well as the larger panels open to all attendees. I was able to attend 2 private workshops:

  • Barr3 Yoga Flow
  • Facebook Messenger Kids

What I Learned at #BlogHer19 Creators Summit

Focus on Video

Videos are more capturing than photo content. Viewers get a better inside scoop into the story. For creators posting things like tutorials, recipes, or anything DIY video content has a hands down ability to have more engagement and reach too.

How to Support Female Owned Businesses’

Supporting female owned businesses’ and entrepreneurs is as easy as liking a picture on their feed. Literally doing anything to support a fellow female business owner can help boost their online engagement, sales and more. Of course, choosing to buy products produced by female owned businesses’ is the best way to support them. Just do a little research before you buy something and see if a female has innovated to make the product any better. One of my favorites that I continue to support is Caulipower. A female owned business that makes gluten free, cauliflower based pizzas and other frozen foods. The pizza is hella good y’all!

Will I Return to the #BlogHer19 Creators Summit

Yes! Of course! Even though I did get sick with the terrible flu as soon as I made it into New York, I had such an amazing experience. Not only at the conference – but learning more about myself too. Like I mentioned, I haven’t been away by myself before
