I was so excited to propose to my bridesmaids. It took me almost a year to pick the perfect girls – and almost 3 months to decide on my proposal. I wanted it to be special and fun, and because it’s me, it had to be dramatic and extra. I love going over the top and making things really pretty and detailed. While browsing on Pinterest, I found almost one million different ideas that I wanted to try. There are premade boxes that you can buy, but they didn’t seem as special to me. I also know that I could have just asked, but that’s not as fun. Picking bridesmaids is one of the most important parts of your wedding I’ve come to learn. I’ve been in a few weddings where the wrong girls seemed to spoil the planning, activities and even the big day. I have been waiting for this wedding for 6 years, so I want it to be perfect! How to Make the Perfect Bridesmaid Proposal Box
I think that the perfect bridesmaid box needs to include things that are sentimental, fun, personalized and practical. The box is a beautiful gift that can be just as meaningful as the real proposal. I knew a few of my girls would be surprised that I was asking them, so I wanted it to be just perfect. Also, I wanted to draw some tears – because crying shows you care, right?
Something Sentimental
This can be anything that’s meaningful between you two. Depending on your friendship, you can include any number of things:
- A picture
- An inside joke
- A memory
- A mix tape
Think of the reason you want this person to be in your wedding and draw from that memory.
Something Fun
Not only are they there to support your wedding, but they’re also the ones that need to make you have a good time before you’re hitched! A little bottle of champagne (or any liquor), a photo prop, or ticket can help get the party started!
Something Personalized
Personalized gifts are always the best – I can’t be the only one who gets excited when my name is written on something right? Maybe just because it’s so dang hard to find things with Monika spelled correctly…
You can get almost everything personalized these days. I find that Etsy and Instagram are the best places to find exactly what you’re looking for! Maybe even choose something that can be used in the wedding: jewelry, a wine/champagne glass, robe, etc.
Something Practical
What’s something that they can actually use right now and will love? Small things like chocolates, hair ties, candles, etc. can be used leading up to the wedding.
