Hosting an Easter Party for Kids – Easter Games and Activities

Happy Easter!

We’re in the middle of quarantine (are we in the middle? I hope it’s on its way to being over…) – so there isn’t much we can do during this Easter holiday. Many of the typical activities we do like a city-wide Easter egg hunt, Easter basket blessings in our church, and family get togethers have been postponed. BUT! There’s no reason that we can’t have our own little party at home. I had bought all the décor and supplies weeks before at Target. As soon as the Easter snacks and décor hit the shelfs I bought it all up. I was so excited to have a little Easter gathering for them no matter what the outcome would be. Here’s how to host an Easter Party for kids (quarantined or not J)

Cheap Easter Party Decorations

So, of course the décor is my favorite part of the party! You can dress up your space even if you’re on a budget. The dollar spot at Target is great and you can also find so many great items at the Dollar Tree too. I found our Easter table cloth, bunny straws, and Happy Easter Banner all at the dollar store for under $5!

Easy and Cute Easter Party Foods

I find that kids parties flow really well if we make a schedule – not a strict one of course. A typical party schedule for us looks like:

  • Arrive
  • Snack
  • Activity
  • Meal
  • Game
  • Snack
  • Good-bye activity

Each activity has a about a 30 minute time line giving more or less if we need it. I use a lot of snack breaks to break up the time for a few reasons. The first time you introduce your guests to food, they won’t really dive in – no ones ever that hungry. But, after a few games and activities, everyone’s looking forward to some of the delicious side dishes and treats you’ve made! Having a few snack breaks also gives you time to clean up/set up the next activity.

Easter Party Activities for Kids

One of the obvious activities at an Easter Party for kids is an Egg Hunt – but there are so many more things you can do! At our Easter Party, we painted eggs. I found these plaster eggs at Dollar Tree. They came in a pack with paint and paint brushes, so luckily, I didn’t have to get any more materials. The boys love painting and crafts so I knew this one was going to be a hit! After they were finished we were able to use the eggs as Easter décor too! A win – win.
