At Home Family Photoshoot Ideas – Taking Family Photos at Home

Since everything has been closed down, we aren’t able to get our usual family photos done. As a family blogger, we take family photos quite often – usually a few times a month. But, we don’t always stick to one location. I love getting shots of our real lives. So, this means while we’re traveling, running errands, or enjoying the outdoors. The chance to get these great shots outdoors usually changes for me as the seasons change. It gets REALLY cold in the winter and it’s impossible to get those fun family shots outdoors. We’ve become pros at taking family photos at home over the past few years. With the lockdown status, more families are needing to take their family pictures inside – but don’t worry, this isn’t terrible! At home family photoshoots always seem more natural (less staged) while everyone can be in their element. Here are some of my favorite family photos we’ve taken at home:

Family Photoshoot Ideas in the Living Room

When taking family photos in your living room or family room, I love to see families actually doing family things – Reading books, watching movies, talking, playing together, cleaning or decorating are fun candid poses you can do.

Family Photoshoot Ideas in our Bedrooms

I love bed poses too – They are really cozy and intimate. With a brand new baby, poses in the bedroom are my favorite! The lighting and energy in a bedroom is so calming and neutral. With big windows the natural light on a cozy bed can give some really beautiful shots.

Family Photoshoot Ideas in the Kitchen

Family photos in the kitchen aren’t the easiest – especially if you have a small kitchen like me. With different color fruits and foods, I love that you can make the photos really fun and vibrant.
