Things to do in Aruba – Paddle Boarding

Hola Aruba!

We recently got back from our beautiful vacation in sunny, sunny Aruba. We had the most magical time on our first family vacation. Many of our hopes were to relax – but also to explore the island a little bit. I love to experience new cultures and see the world in another light. We got to see Aruba from a totally different perspective – we were able to see the beauty of the beaches by paddle board!

Aruba Surf & Paddle School has a 10 km guided tour of the beaches. Our surf instructor Dennis, was amazing! He was so friendly and absolutely the best surf instructor I’ve ever had. He guided us through a quick lesson, then sent us on our way. Paddle boarding is much easier than you think! As long as you have some balance and the wind at your back, it’s easy to pick up speed – the 10 km went by very quickly.

One of our first stops along the trip, were the untouched natural beaches. They were breath – taking! There was a tremendous amount of natural cacti and flora. Paddling through the untouched beach we surfed over so many different schools of fish. The most exciting being a HUGE sting ray.

Luckily I’m way better than Brandon at paddle boarding. I almost knocked him off a few times – ha ha.

Our next stop was towards Oranjestad – Aruba’s downtown capital. We surfed along more beautiful turquoise beach. We passed by the Renaissance Private Island, and got a tiny peak of the pink flamingos.

Around one bend the wind is so strong. Only a pro-surfer would be able to make it through. We walked along the shore which was a great break on our arms – plus, the water was so refreshing!

Each vacation we go on we try to do one active excursion – rock climbing, hiking, atving. Paddle Boarding in Aruba was so much fun – we were so good at it too! It was the perfect little getaway from our vacation. For a minute, we felt like we were on our honeymoon.
